The climbing area is located in the Massa Gorge. The approach is somewhat demanding, but this is made up for by racy climbing on fine ledges, sharp crystals and generous cracks.

Drive from Bitsch in the direction of Ried-Mörel and park the car above the hamlet of Eiche (about 500 metres above at Leemegguwald) at the roadside. From here, follow the path to the water conduit and up to the third tunnel. On the opposite side of the gorge you can now see the rock face to be climbed. Continue for another 100 metres until you reach a desander. Then go down the forest on the left and follow the tracks to the fixed rope. Caution: The descent into the gorge is steep and sloping.
Besides the usual climbing equipment
60m double rope
10 express slings
Friends and wedges
At this time the gorge is impassable - danger to life!
Even if it looks so tempting in films: Rock climbing in nature is not for greenhorns. In addition to suitable equipment and strength, you need sound training and practice in belaying techniques. Because if you are properly belayed, serious accidents hardly ever happen when rock climbing.
The 5 most important tips:
Learn belaying techniques and never let go of the brake rope when belaying. Question the belaying behaviour of your rope partner and address mistakes. Check your partner - pay special attention to knots Check commands and signs beforehand Wear a helmet, take off finger rings
