Senftenbach is a municipality in the district of Ried im Innkreis at 414 metres above sea level.
The name of the small municipality is derived from the term ‘gentle stream’, which can be traced back to the local stream, the Senftenbach.
The area around Senftenbach was once a favourite hunting ground of the Passau bishops. The meeting place - then as now - was the site of today's village inn.
