The route has connections to Kerity, Lake Onkimaa and on to Karkkila, as well as to Lake Iso-Melkutin and Lake Kivijärvi. The nearest lean-to shelter is at Kivijärvi, about 2.5 km in each direction along the route. The connection route is marked in yellow squares.
Lake Kivisammaljärvi is suitable for canoeing and has a water connection to Lake Keritty.
