Plassen Loop starting from Russbach S 534

We start in Russbach along the old Pass Gschütt road in the direction of Gosaubach, do not cross it, turn right upstream after around 60m into the Gosaubachweg and follow this for around 300m to cross the stream to the left onto the Eschenweg until we pass a barrier after around 400m and pass another barrier along the fence steeply uphill for around 170m and in a hairpin bend turning left at the top. Now we follow the forest road for around 1.9km and turn left at the crossroads down towards Märchenwald. After around 1.7 kilometres, we cross the Gosaubach stream to the left in the direction of the B166. We pass the fish pond and after around 100 metres turn right onto the B166. We stay on the B166 downhill towards Lake Hallstatt. Around 2.8km later, we cross the Gosaubach stream on the B166 and turn right uphill onto Gosauleitenstraße. We pass the barrier on gravel. A short, steep climb, then a gentle ascent above the B166 until we descend again, washed out and rough, to the B166, where we turn right again after around 3.4km. At the Hallstatt junction, we stay on the B166 in the left-hand bend in the direction of Bad Goisern until we turn right again at the confectionery onto the R2 Salzkammergut cycle path in the direction of Hallstatt. Now follow the cycle path signs to the lido in Obertraun. After around 1.2km we turn right, cross the Traun and continue along the cycle path towards Hallstatt. After around 3.3km we reach the entrance to the village (km29.1) Hallstatt leave the cycle path by staying on the L547 for a further 400m and then turning left onto the Malerweg (Echerntal). The hustle and bustle is over, now the solitude begins. We follow the Malerweg to the car park in front of the barrier. From here, it's a short 1.8 kilometre steep climb through a short tunnel. At the waterfall, we cross the bridge to the right and pedal uphill and at the Sattelalm junction, after around 700 metres, continue uphill in the left-hand bend. 400 metres later, at the next junction, continue straight uphill. We follow the forest road steeply uphill until we reach the highest point of this tour, at an altitude of 1502m, after around 4.2km at the crossroads in a hairpin bend after a further 2km to the Strähnhag crossing. Please note that there is no possibility to recharge the batteries here, there is no electricity. Now comes the more leisurely part of the tour. After around 1.4km we pass the turn-off to the Plankensteinalm and after a further 2.6km the junction below the Löckenmoos. We follow the signs for the Seekar circuit. After around 2.4km at the next crossroads, we turn off to the right at the top, leaving the Seekar circuit, and continue past the Schäferalm in a right-hand bend, always staying on the main path until after around 3.4km we choose the left fork at the fork and turn slightly downhill after around 1.4km to the left at the bottom, then 500m later turn left again onto the route we have already travelled in the direction of Gosau.After 2.4km, take the hairpin bend to the right downhill until we cross the Gosaubch after around 600m and turn right, reaching our starting point a little later.
