Peca/Petzen mountain

Mount Peca (german Petzen) is a karst massif located on the eastern part of the Karavanke and the most eastern two-thousand metre mountain (2.125 m) in Slovenia. The extensive mountain range on the south side is bordered by the Topla Valley (3.1.1.4.) and the Mežica Valley, while the country border between Slovenia and Austria runs over the top. With its landscape gem of the Topla Valley and King Matjaž sleeping in its embrace Peca is considered a symbol of the Koroška region. It is also a great opportunity for observing the high mountain karst, traces of glacial activity and numerous animal and plant species.
