When getting to the resort Obergurgl, you’ll encounter a great mix of obstacles that leads riders through well-aligned tree runs. Obviously, the female-only crew of shapers, which is unique so far, has done some excellent work on the quattro Snow Park Obergurgl this winter. That’s just one of countless reasons why it was high time for checking out and testing the park last weekend. And luckily, the session was captured on video and photo.

Everyone who visits the quattro Snow Park Obergurgl will be drawn into the special atmosphere. Together with her head shaper Cat from Scotland, the German-Swedish park designer Sarah Abelin has been in charge of the park this season and they have proven that their shape skills are more than equal to those of their male colleagues’. Various unusual features, such as a tank jib and a lollipop are waiting to be shred at the park. You can tell that the freeskier Frederic Aitzetmüller as well as the snowboarders Roli Tschoder, Benjamin Maurer, Max de Boer and Daniela Kaindl were absolutely curious about checking out these obstacles, so they made their way to the highly promising Snowpark, accompanied by the QParks media department.

“The park’s in great shape and offers plenty of very unique obstacles,” Roli Tschoder reports. He’s particularly excited about the lollipop, which is “definitely the park’s coolest feature. There are loads of ways to shred it.” The snowboarders and freeskiers were even more impressed by the crew’s commitment, “The girls are absolutely mellow persons and their work is just amazing,” freeskier Frederic Aitzetmüller says.

Photographer Patrick Steiner and cinematographer Balint Hambalko got highly enthusiastic about the park as well: “The park’s not only very well suited for freestyle beginners, advanced riders will have tons of fun too,” Patrick reckons. The photographer knows what he’s talking about, since he has already captured countless riders and parks with his camera. He seems particularly excited about this photo session; “My personal highlight was the session at the kinked box. Roli’s Millerflip and Max’s Frontflip over the box – that’s what an amazing photo shoot’s supposed to be like.”

The photo and video session has brought out a freeski and a snowboard edit – additional highlights are waiting for you in the twintips and the snowboard gallery.
