Anyone who is still shaky on the boards that mean the world of skiing or snowboarding should knock on the Gesäuse Ski School, the only ski school in the Gesäuse. There is also material to borrow, by the way.

Neben dem alpinen Skilauf bietet die Kaiserau auch für Langlauf-Enthusiasten beste Bedingungen. Rund um das Schloss führt eine weitläufige und idyllisch angelegte Loipenanlage - für sportlich Aktive wie für Sonnenhungrige. Die rund 4,5 km lange Route entspricht den Anforderungen eines Höhentrainings. Die Strecke bietet Platz für Anfänger bis Profisportler, die entweder den Klassischen Stil oder Skaten bevorzugen. Es besteht die Möglichkeit, sich die gesamte Ausrüstung vor Ort auszuleihen. Die Benützung der Langlaufloipe ist gegen eine kleine Benützungsgebühr möglich.
